Who I Am:

Greetings! My name is Sabra Maurice, LCPC, LMHC. I obtained my Master’s Degree from Bradley University in Illinois and am licensed there and in Florida. Because I was trained in a developmental modeI, I take a very human to human approach with my clients. This means that as a counselor I aim to treat the whole person using a mind, body, emotions, and thoughts approach. I also am an integrative, holistic counselor combining some traditional therapy techniques with other holistic tools such as CBT, EMDR, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), hypnotherapy, relaxation techniques, Sound Healing, Energy Psychology, and Spirituality,

I value helping clients develop the ability to truly be present and in the driver's seat of their own lives. One of the ways I've found most successful for achieving this can be by structuring our healing work into three stages moving from the past, to the current, and then future triggers. The reason this is so helpful is because often without realizing it, we may acquire a build up of stress and emotions in the body over time, even if seemingly coping well. By clearing out any build up and doing practices in our routines to keep it from further accumulating, we can reduce the possibility of it turning into something unwanted like anxiety, depression or health issues which helps to move progress along.  I am passionate about wanting people to be happy and healthy.

Experience and Skills

I have over 25 years experience counseling people and have found that people are innately alike while uniquely different.  If there's one thing all my years of experience has taught me, it's that what works for one person might be quite different from what works for another. â€‹ This is something I always keep in mind when helping my clients find what will be

the most effective and efficient for them and their progress in therapy.

I have also worked with many types of traumas and have been certified for 10 years in EMDR.  I have found it to be extremely effective and well researched evidence based technique to neutralize the effects of trauma that is equally effective online. I have worked in multiple settings including outpatient counseling, groups on inpatient mental health units, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs.  I have worked with all ages, all kinds of issues and people.

Why work with Me?

I enjoy getting to know people at a deeper level and creating a warm, safe, nurturing, sacred space for them to have awareness, process, heal, learn, grow, and become empowered.  I educate and teach people the many ways they can maintain overall  well being.  We all need connection, understanding, and help at times. I feel like life is a journey we all are learning and growing. My specialties include treating trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationships, stress management, self worth, spirituality, health conditions, and toxic workplaces.

My own life journey brought me to Florida with my two fur babies about 3 years ago after my children left the nest. I love the warm weather, beach, boating, camping and walking my dog. One unique thing about me besides my name is that I am a twin. I look forward to meeting you and walking a path in the journey with you guiding and supporting your goals!
