Who I Am:
Greetings! My name is Kellie Feciuch, LPCC-S, LMHC. I hold a license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation in the state of Ohio and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I earned a double master’s degree from the University of Akron in Community Counseling & School Counseling. I am also a 26-year retired Army Veteran who is passionate about providing a positive and authentic healing environment for my clients. All my personal and professional experiences have taught me that despite the vast differences people may seem to have, we also share some key commonalities on a deep level such as the desire for safety, connection, and betterment for ourselves and our lives. This has allowed me to build a genuine connection with each client that lends itself to transformative healing.
I have helped many clients throughout the years with a special emphasis on trauma, anxiety, military-related struggles, relational issues, infertility, substance abuse issues, career exploration/life transitions, and depression. I work with clients through a collaborative approach utilizing their own unique strengths.
My mission is to help clients find increased balance and peace in their lives. I am passionate about exploring your stuck points and how to move toward a more fulfilling experience in life. I will walk with you during this journey, providing warmth and understanding while gently challenging you to move toward your goals and objectives. Please read below to learn more about my training and experience.
Experience and Skills
I'm trained in several evidenced-based practices to help my clients heal including specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) through The Institute of Creative Mindfulness. EMDR is an evidence-based approach to help you process various life struggles such as anxiety, trauma, and depression. I have a special emphasis in my EMDR training that includes the integration of Creative Therapies such as music, movement, art, and writing. These creative areas can be added to the therapeutic process or omitted based on your needs and preferences.
In addition, I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In my experience, I've learned that each client brings a unique journey that may benefit from being able to pull from a library of many different therapeutic approaches. As such, I often interweave various therapeutic skills to assist clients in reaching their full potential and managing their day-to-day stressors.
Speaking of stress, I'm a strong believer in the mind and body connection and have found Mindfulness to be a great tool in this area. One interesting way I practice Mindfulness is via paddle boarding. I eventually got trained to become a paddle board yoga instructor so I could share it's benefits with others. Since then, I've found it tremendously helpful to sometimes bring aspects of Mindfulness into my work with clients providing them with an even more robust set of skills for reducing stress and anxiety and better helping them address life challenges.
Why work with Me?
My goal is for each and every client to feel safe, seen, heard, and empowered as they move through their natural process of finding meaning, hope, and healing. I strive to create a space where you can share your voice and story to achieve your unique goals. If this sounds like something that interests you, I'd love to work with you. I look forward to connecting with you!
